"BC Kumstis" is public institution, whose members are loving basketball, active life and social activities. Until became so as we are, number of time is passed and club managed to retain some history. 
 
Team history
  
In August of 2001 were established team "Kumstis" (Fist). Team founder and captain - Tomas Zdanavicius.
 
In 2001/02 season "Kumstis" contested in "Smukles League" (Tavern league) tournament. In the contest of twenty teams, "Kumstis" were eleminated of team "Armila-Upsarin" in eightfinals stage. In team played: Tomas Zdanavicius (Toonas), Sarunas Dieninis (Barzda), Sarunas Baleisis (Saras), Aurimas Danaitis (Peepas), Tomas Delnickas (Tomazas), Algirdas Pupkus (Coolish), Arturas Sidorenka (Skura), Karolis Cepukas (Chepaz), Paulius Zdanavicius (Tifoso), Darius Tomasevskis (Darifas).

In season of 2002/03 team played in "Smukles league" tournament. Season not impressive - we left the tournament on eightfinals again, this time lost against "Zaibas". Team has leaved rarely played Darifas and added three youngsters - Vytautas Kalinka (Kalinka) ir Simonas Paketuras (Junior), Mantas Leonavicius (Mamontovas).

In 2003 younger brother of Tomas - Paulius - took over team helm. 
 
Years 2003/04 were first, than team contested in two tournaments: "Smukes lyga" and "VKML" (at the time called Eurobasket.lt cup). The third season was much more successful than previous ones. In Smukles league we lost in quarters to winers of 2003/04 years "Dejom". In VKML league earned third place, after beating team "Avitela" in bronze medal game. By the way, quarterfinal game against "Iris", probably is most memorable game in whole "Kumstis" history. In the socond match of the series in final quarter we were down by 22 points difference, but managed to get back and win the game. In season team has four new members: Andrius Astylaitis (Kikas, Kranas), Julius Pasys (Janas - contested only in Smukles league), Arturas Danielius (Arturas) and Aleksandas Slempa (Sashka),. 2004/05 team is stronger and is considered as one of favorites in both leagues. But scenario is the same as in previous seasons. In Smukles league team is downed by "Dejom" in quarterfinals, in VKML we are out of tournament in 1/8 finals stage (lost to BC "Meskos", the same who beat us in previous season semis). Team joined Karolis Bliudzius (K.B.), Mindaugas Plokstys (Minde), Rokas Anuskevicius (Blade, Rokas - played only in VKML), and the team helm was trusted to the first coach in the club history  - G. Bertulis. team lost fallowing players: Mantas Leonavicius, Arturas Danielius, Aleksandras Slempa, Arturas Sidorenka. 2005/06 year were most exceptional in the fact that team has first sponsor - forwarding company "Frans Maas". Also team first time changes it name and were called "Frans Maas - Kumstis". On the basketball court we do not anything meaningful again. In Smukles league reagular season was not bad and promising, but we are knocked out in 1/8 finals by team "Nezinia". In VKML cup quarterfinals after very tough battle we lost to principled rivals - "Concept E&M". Although team was stronger every year, rising level of tournaments and lack of experience - did not let us achieve greater success. Team added Edgaras Matusevicius (Matuse), Jaroslavas Jonuska (Jara - played only in SL), Vytautas Spokauskas (Spokas). left: Mindaugas Plokstys, Aurimas Danaitis. In the start of the Smukles league season then players limit get into effect, team lost main center Karolis Bliudzius (he moved to team "Delintra"). In 2006/07 season team again receive support - this year from company "DSV Transport". The team is splited to the two fronts - in VKML "BC Kumstis" aim high goals, retain team nucleus and add three mighty players; In Smukles league plays old-timers and company "DSV transport" empoyees. In SL we do not make even eightfinals (the lowest team performance during its entire history), after loosing two last games (semis and broze medal game) in VKML "BC Kumstis" stays in fourth. Team add Tadas Monkevicius (Tadas), Mantas Mikociunas (Mantas), Marius Poskus (all played only in VKML), and DSV empoyees in Smukles league. Team stats at Sl league can be found here.
 
 

Matches for third place in VKML cup start 

In April 3 of 2007 established public institition "BC Kumstis" and launched official activities 
 
In season 2007/08 team is supported by energetics company "Castrade", but team name remains "BC Kumstis"(VKML). It also occures the change of coaches. G. Bertulis (Big thanks for him), who worked with team two and the half years were replaced by more experienced A. Jocys.
Because of couple unsuccessfull matches in the challange cup, we do not made the main VKML tournament. All regular season we played against weaker teams and do not suffer any defeat. In play offs we had a chance to battle against top 12 teams for the main trophy. In eightfinals aftervery hard and difficult series we defeat team "Kolegos", but in quarterfinals fortune favours not us, but rivals. We lost to "VSK Polonija" in tide series and were out of tournament.
In Smukles league yet another takeover. Due to restrictions may not play a large part of VKML players, so were decided to unite with Delintra (new team name Delintra-Kumstis).In tournament quarterfinals after incredible 3 games series we beat champions "Dejom", but however this was fallowed by two disapointing looses, that again left us without medals. However, in this season one medal was captured. In Zalgiriada of Vilnius city were reached second place (in final we lost to "Bravo").
In VKML team add Ramunas Rackauskas (Ramas) and Martynas Siksnys (La Bomba).
In SL after junction with Delintra, united team members became: Rokas Mackevicius (Rokelis), Dainius Kazlauskas (Kazlas), Tomas Alisas (Tomas), Karolis Sidikerskis (Pusbrolis), Tadas Janilionis (T.J.), Jurgita Anuskevicienė (Jurgita). Junction let us play in SL with members VKML squad Rokas and K.B., who in previous SL seasons performed for Delintra.

2008 11 10 officially started club website www.kumstis.lt
 
2008/09 season was almost copy of previous one. In VKML after quite good season in the Top12 group stage, team again lost in quarterfinals to VSK "Polonia" (same team in same play off stage eliminate us in season of 2007/08).
In Smukles league team had it best regular season ever (earned first position), but in semifinals once again we lost to "Ekskomisaru biuras". However, contrary to the last year in the battle for a bronze we overcamed "Dejom" ballers.
Before season team had added Andrius Urbanavicius (VKML, SL), Dainius Leknickas (SL) and Karolis Sidikerskis (joined VKML squad). Team lost Algirdas Pupkus and Andrius Astylaitis.

  • "BC Kumstis" so far has participated in three different leagues or tournaments: Smukles league, VKML ir Zalgiriada. 
  • A team at various tournament is reached 3 prizes: 2009 Smukles league III place, 2008 - II place in Zalgiriada, 2003/04 - III place in VKML.
  • Since 2001 were replaced 4 sets of uniforms. First ones - green/white, since 2003/04 - black/red, from 2006/07 - blue, and since 2008 - whites. At present team plays with white and blue uniforms.
  • Durring its history, team were managed by two coaches. In the middle of 2004/05 season team joined G. Bertulis, and since 2007/08 season start he was replaced by A. Jocys. 
  • Three players are still playng in the tim since its foundation: K. Cepukas, T. Zdanavicius, P. Zdanavicius.
